A Pure Brass Hammer Head is a specialized striking tool prized for its "non-sparking" and "dead-blow" characteristics. Unlike steel hammers, which are designed for raw power and durability, brass hammers are chosen for their mechanical properties in sensitive environments.

Why Use Pure Brass?

The primary advantage of a pure brass head (often an alloy like C360 or C464) is that it is significantly softer than steel or iron.

• Non-Sparking: Brass does not produce sparks when struck against other metals. This is a critical safety requirement in "Hazardous Areas" (ATEX zones) where flammable gases, vapors, or explosive dust are present.

• Surface Protection: Because brass is softer than most machinery steel, the hammer head will deform (mushroom) before it damages the workpiece. This makes it ideal for driving pins, bushings, or gears without marring the finish.

• Low Rebound: Brass has a higher density than steel but less elasticity. When it strikes a surface, it tends to "stick" better rather than bouncing back, transferring more energy directly into the strike.
